The European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS) is an interdisciplinary research center of the University of Florence (UniFi), located within the Scientific Campus of Sesto Fiorentino. Founded in 1991, LENS is a center of excellence unique in Italy, bringing together physicists, chemists, and biologists to conduct cutting-edge research in light–matter interaction.
Its main research areas include quantum optics, ultracold atoms, photonics, biophysics, and advanced spectroscopy. LENS hosts state-of-the-art laboratories and large-scale research infrastructures, and it is actively involved in numerous national and international projects. Through its highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, LENS contributes to major advances in fundamental science and technological innovation.
