Global and Multiphase Estimation with Multipartite Qudit Resources

Global and Multiphase Estimation with Multipartite Qudit Resources

Quantum metrology is usually formulated in the local regime, where Fisher information sets the ultimate precision. In this talk I will discuss global and multiphase estimation, where periodicity, finite data, and measurement incompatibility can become important. I will then show how multipartite qudit entanglement provides a natural resource for these tasks. Using collective SU(d) generators and Young-diagram methods, one can classify high-dimensional entanglement structures and derive Fisher-information bounds that certify useful metrological resources.
