Jörg Schmiedmayer

Jörg Schmiedmayer is an Austrian quantum physicist and with his research group, he developed a method for controlling and manipulating cold atoms using structured surfaces known as atom chips. In 2003, he succeeded for the first time in creating a Bose-Einstein condensate on an atom chip.
